The Rinehart bird course teaches you how to master the most efficient techniques
in bird taxidermy. The first thing you learn is the skinning of a bird, which is
a simple cut along the breast bone. imagine turning the bird's skin inside out like
a glove. Next the instructor will demonstrate the two most common ways to degrease
a bird, the wire brush and the wire wheel. The important thing about the wire bush
is that it is the cheapest way to work a bird's skin, so you don?t have to buy a
expensive wire wheel.
After degreasing the bird it is washed in a degreasing agent. After that the instructor
will again give you two options on how to dry and fluff the bird for a life-like
look. Blow drying or the more expensive bird tumbler are the best ways to achieve
this.
Starting with the simple inexpensive techniques and tools we teach you, you can
have a successful bird studio at a fraction of the cost that other taxidermy schools
say is possible.
